If i didn't have on already, i would have a go at getting the Touareg sat nav to fit somehow - they usually sell for a fair bit cheaper on eBay.de

I was thinking of selling my MFD2, but now i'm not so sure, if they are THAT sought after.

i would get tomtom go, but i want to keep it in the car all the time, dont have 2 mess about re aquiring sat signals etc, dont wanna have to take it out everytime i park the car as well

I park golfy in some dodgy areas in middlesbrough and in ponders end down in enfield.. not exactly places where i want to have a tomtom sat waiting to be stolen []

I use TomTom mobile. I only need sat nav every now and again and well up to the job.

I only managed to find sat nav on ebay, but no one has ever bought it of the seller, he is asking for ?750 as a starting bid[xx(]!

I keep losing bids on eBay Germany, outbid by snipers. Going rate for the MkIV seems to be about ?400-?500 but there are some sellers with dubious feedback.

be VERY wary about buying sat nav's from ebay.de. I have been burned before as have alot of other people i know of. The guy Tom who does satnavsystems is very trustworthy as far as i know.

s12lvo and reflex TDI, the person youre trying to buy from is one and the same!, satnavsystems, and tomonanda are the same person, `TOM`, he has great service and has everything youll need for a satnav install, i bought my version g from him, and will soon buy the oem GPS aerial from him, saving ?100 compared to the dealer price, he is a one man outfit!!, say youre from the mkiv forum, and he `should` do you a better price, or say that Zak recommended you, it may help[:I]

if this tomonanda is a genuine guy; why not introduce him to the forum and suggest he runs a GB for vw navi systems; i'm sure he'd do a price if he was selling 10-12 units!

Hi i Got my MDF2 from him very good service. I got in the car and when to him to collect it as it was a lot of cash but he is a very good and top service. I told him about the site when i got my unit. my head units came with 12 months warranty so it was worth the extra paid ?750 but yet again i cant fault service have told a few other i know about his place.

Dog - you know in Ireland Sat Nav doesn't fully cover the country. AFAIK it's only about 50%.

What? FFS typical irish - dont bother to finish it...are you sure?

Yep. My Dad works in Ordnance Survey...not really typical Irish (for once!!) just the companies won't pay the OS enough money to use their maps so they said F Off!

But at same time, come on, where in Ireland could you not find with a simple ?5 map!? I know, not the point but it's all, follow the N3 or N4 then take the turn...blah blah and the AA website gives you a junction by junction print out from point A to point B if you need it.

Save yourself the money!!
