Hi,

I have a set of genuine Santa Monica 17" 7.5j and is currently with 225 45 17 tyres on.

I am thinking of putting a 215 45 17 set all around, the front is rubbing a bit at full lock with 225. I know this will effect the speedo a bit but I am ok with this.

Apart from the speedo, will there be any significant issues?

Thanks

Yes, lowered on Bilsten springs. Think the rubbing is due to the width of the tyres so 215 will certainly help.

Original tyres are 205 on 16". And I suppose the ride will be better with 215 too, 225 is a bit harsh on some B roads.

aren't santas 7j ?

[/quote] My bad.. its 7J

But really like them, just that they need TLC or they corrode quickly.

And they are quite heavy too...

Would 225/50/17 be ok?

I think this will still have the same problem, the tyre is rubbing at the inner wheel well at full lock, I can see the "clean" line.. so 225 is too wide.
