I've just purchased replacement buttons for my 2 button key fob. however, I cant for the life of me figure out how to remove the existing buttons.

can someone give me a few pointers? I've searched google for a guide, but I cant seem to find anything...

I used a really small flat head screw driver to prize the circuit board off. It's just clipped onto the 2 black plastic pins. I started with the 1 on the bottom of your picture, closest to where the key chain goes. Once that is off you can just push the buttons out from behind. Hope this helps.

Looks like a nice job. Makes such a difference with the new bits on. Where did you get the new badge from because I'm really in need of 1.
