Hi,

So I've had a problem with my rear wiper for a while, intermitently goes on and off, gets stuck not in the proper postion etc, and sometimes front wipers come on also. I've replaced the relays, next thing is a new stalk.

I have the new stalk, and have replaced them on Ford Focus before, pretty easy.

I've had a look at some how tos on Cruise control which involves replacing a stalk and you have to remove the airbag + steering wheel.

I don't particularly want to do this, nor would I like to pay someone to do it.

Is it possible to still get the upper steering column plastic away so i can insert a new stalk?

Cheers

The wheel HAS to be removed to replace the stalk.

Taking the airbag and wheel off is simple and there should be no worries. Can be fiddly to release the clips that hold the airbag in place, but can be a walk in the park 50% of the time.

The hardest part and trickiest is removing the steering slip ring, especially if your car has ESP.

To remove the wheel you will need a M12 ZXN Bit.
