Hi there! I'm Andrea and I'm a newly arrived! Sorry for my bad english.. but it's not my native language...

Mine is a MK4 '01 Golf with no [:(][:(] comfort feature! So I started looking around and found modules like alientech, etc...

I was wondering if anybody ever tried to build one of these circuits by himself.

bye

uh, yes.. I've found it too.. but I'm looking for a public domain project, I mean.. a circuit or, better, a PCB! Just like the VAG-COM project that I followed some time ago to build my own ODB2 interface..

I have made a simple circuit that automatically closes the windows every time when the car is locked from the remote key or by the key in the lock. I made it for my own use so haven't tested it in other cars, only fitted it a few weeks ago, but it has worked fine without any problems.

Link to word document, right click and s elect save as.

Thanks [:)]

you can buy the unit from http://www.awesomegti.com/ and that enables the windows to go up when you lock it and down when you unlock it then you can use the vent function to drop the windows between 1 and 3 inchs to let air in the car this item is also available on ebay from this chap [email protected] it was about 45.00 inc postage and took longer to remove the door card than it did to fit the controller

I have put some more information about the circuit. A few graphs and a brief description.

Link to word document.

Oh, you're so gentle [!][!]. I downloaded the closer description on the fly! I will study it deep! I have it open at the moment and I must admit you're really professional! This means I'm a really poor guy too [:(][:(] I mean.. I wouldn't ever be able to do such a thing... impulse detection technology!![:O] Well.. I'm sure it's a matter of minutes for you.. [:D][:D]

hi andy

thanks for the info, i am also going to work with your circuit as i dont need auto window as i just want to be able to close the window.

just a few questions, do you know the pins for the rear windows and sunroof (5 door model)?

did you just connect to the wires behind the drivers door, the doc made it sound like you connected directly to the controller but then that dont make sense because you gave wire colours.

where is the controller anyway?

thanks

Further to the previous postings, I have been trying to get some info regarding dissabling the window comfort feature! VW have a service/technical bulletin regarding which wires etc to cut/link to dissable the window drop feature. This was a follow up to the delocking mod to add further security. Does anyone have this info as I wish to carry out the mod?

Thanks

Shouldn't need pin numbers for rear doors. But I found some wiring diagrams - not very good quality (for Golf year 1999).

Best to right click and save as, then open in photo editing program,

the block at the top labelled Jxxx is the controller - pin numbers are next to the wires after the Txx/

Check if you hold the key in the lock position in the lock - all windows should shut, not sure about the sunroof though.

So would only need one circuit in the drivers door.

There is a controller attached to the window motor in each door.

Window motor & controller pic (passengers side):

http://www.btinternet.com/~a_hutton/controller.jpg

Need to take interior door panel off. The cover of the grab handle is attached by clips and will pull off, then there are two screws behind.

Pic of handle : http://www.btinternet.com/~a_hutton/handle.jpg

There are also two screws at the bottom of the plastic panel.

The panel is held on by several clips, start at the bottom and pull outwards.

Lift the panel up slightly to clear locking knob and carefully pull out, there are several wires attached.

Unplug all the wires (hold plastic latch down on connector to release and pull out)- (speaker, door light, switches, alarm LED) and unclip the door latch cable.

Leave all exisiting wiring connected and attach circuit to it near to the controller. Circuit should fit easily next to controller behind door panel.

Don't know about VW bulletin, but I disconnected the wire from the unlock key switch, see post (about half way down page) :

If the windows don't close when the key is held in lock position in the lock (for over 2 seconds) then unfortunately this circuit won't work. Would need something more advanced, like an aftermarket module suitable for your car.

Would have to check (maybe on their website) if your car is listed as being compatible with the modules.

Don't think you can enable/disable with Vagcom.

Thought all Golf, Bora, Passat 1998 onwards should have the function. Maybe uses a different controller, has been modified or is faulty.
