Hi all,

I am thinking of changing to super unleaded. Is it worth it in terms of the following;

- Performance

- Fuel Consumption

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks,

I use Shell V power which is 99RON, and after about two tanks of the fuel i noticed a definate increase in performance, and economy. The drive and acceleration felt so much smoother with the higher octane fuel, and would recomend it. I usually get around 320 miles to a tank, as i do mainly town driving with the higher octane fuel i get 350+. Bit more expensive but you get more out of it well worth it. The car loves this fuel.

Whilst on topic, which would people recommend, BP 95 RON or Tesco 95 RON for a 1.6 SE 8V engine?
from what ive heard the Tesco 95 has a slight BHP increase over the other two. i work in tescos and i av a good old look thru the e-mail system now and again and there was a e-mail about BP and Tesco 95 Fuels. On A Rolling road Run Tescos Came out at about 2bhp more which isnt much.

Dunno how legit the e-mail was but worth a try.....full tank on one and then full tank on another see which u prefer

Vw Specialist told me that he had a woman in a few months ago.

She had put Tesco's petrol in her car, VW Golf Gti Mk2.

It refused to start. I guess it didn't want the fuel anywhere near its engine, so refused to pump it. Hehe !!!!!

I'm sure its a good fuel, but its V-power for me......................

I use VPower all the time, have also just been revo'ed and they reccomend running on VPower for better results.

Iv had no problems and have been using VPower for the past 6-8K, just improved throttle response and fuel economy. Always takes a couple of tank full's to take affect, well worth it, thumb's up from me! [Y]
