Is this stuff a good idea, petrol injector cleaner and fuel system cleaner.

i"ve always used it and never had a problem, also my fuel seems to last longer[:D]
Tbh, Ive used it a few times and not seen any difference in anything. Mpg remains basicly the same, engine doesnt feel like its running any smoother. I stopped buying it. =/
used it once last year when my car felt a little "choked", worked a treat

not needed since, so not used
i found that forte diesel treatment is very good..!

so i imagine all their other products work just as well
i try to use redex whenever i can and i notice the difference when its not the the fuel
ALL the fuel additives were tested on 5th gear a while ago

redex, octane booster and so on and in some cases they were found to cause power loss rather than do what they were claimed to do and NONE of the things tested made an improvement

EDIT

take a look here

I knew this would get a mention[Y]
The OP asked about fuel system cleaners, those in the you tube link are 'power boost additives' . Im sure running a fuel system cleaner now and again should help get a better spray pattern out of the injectors. It certainly works on diesels[C]
exactly they are all booster additives, and products such as redex arn't in that vid and are cleaners instead of boosters.

that the thing, petrol injectors arent exposed to the combustion process and therefore dont get all drity

I thought they still got gummed up with microscopic cr4p though. I would say it can't harm to have a blast of cleaner once in a while[]
yeah probably but then again that whats your fuel filters for. i would just run som v power once in a while as it has better additives in it anyway

Most injectors are subject to EGR so would get a coating over time as they are in the inlet manifold where the EGR passes through on petrol engines unless you have an EGR delete [Y]
i have used redex saw no diffrence forte treatment made a bit of difference but the best one i have used so far has to be millers diesel power becaues it last quite long and gives more mpg and car is smother.

V power is also very good but quite expensive it improved my MPG car is a lot smother when starting from cold. But i use millers diesel power ecomax most of the time with normal shell diesel it works out cheaper than v power and makes quite a bit of difference

oh right didnt know that. But ive removed the injectors a while back and they looked pretty clean tbh, well from the outside they did, dont know about the inside.
