Very common fault on the MK4s []

You can take the motor out and try and replace the fixings around the water feed and the motor, otherwise its a new motor and they are eeeeexpensive. Best bet would be a salvage yard

You can buy rear wiper fixing kits from VW for ?25 which replaces all
the internals, full instructions supplied and a doddle to fit!
Isn't there one part in that kit that's only plastic/rubber though, so
will corrode/split/whatever again. I think there's a bracket or something that
some suggest to buy from homebase or something to make it a permanent
fix.

(Side note: The fact that vw do the kits with instructions inside
implies that they know it's a common fault - a design fault if you will
- but they still do nothing about it!)

David,

You don't happen to have the part number for this repair kit do you?

I checked with my local dealer and they have no idea of such a kit existing ???

also check the c piller, mine and my mates had gone there, there is a swivel joint that is near the rubber for the boot where the wires go through( left hand side) if gone there just pull some pipe through either side, then remove the swivel joint, with that gone, the pipe willm pop into place where it used to go, if that makes sense lol, might have to pop off the cover to the c piller behind the seat to help/
