Hi all,

Have 2002 V5 and after the car is washed (or REALLY heavy rain) the rear brakes seem to stick. I fire it up and put into gear, go to pull away and you can feel the rear gripping, then it releases and I have no problems after that. I am not great with cars so go easy on me, should I be worried or get them checked or is this normal.

Thanks

This can happen when it rains. Just the metal being fused to the pads by oxidisation.

Do you drive often? As my golf is not really used much and always have this. Needs a fair amount of power to release them too in mine.

I drive it everyday but it only really happens when I have left it overnight like you say. I also have to give it some power to release. Well thanks guys I am glad its nothing to worry about. It is odd though because none of my old cars have ever done it.
