I've got one waiting to be fitted, but the car is in the stealers at the moment, will hopefully get it fitted this weekend. I'll take lots of photos and do a how to.

It cost me ?18ish from a seat dealer

You're worried about scraping the R32 bumper??? My R32 already has a black chin spoiler - or rather a spoiler on the bottom that has "ears" that hang down at either end. In fact, I have 2, because I asked the dealer to supply another one since the one on the car was scratched already.

Admittedly the standard item doesn't look as cool as the LCR one but it still does the job of stopping you scratching the paint off the actual bumper.

Yeah, but at ?23 you can't argue, it's not exactly expensive is it. Go and buy one, fit it with some double sided tape to see whether it looks any good or not (oh, and post a pic aswell) and if it turns out you don't like it, you can simply take it off and take it back to the stealers and tell them it's the wrong part!! [:D]

This way, you get your money back AND get to see what it'd look like with the Anni valance! [;)]

Dont bother with this mod , honestly!! the only way to attach this is by bolting it on into the existing holes on the R32 bumper, it is about an inch lower in the middle so you will scrap it , when you do you will either ripp it off and crack the lower edge of your bumper or it will simply pull the bolts or whatever you use to fix it away and again damage it, have done this and is a bad move, unlike on the MKIII with the VR6 bottom spoiler it clips in and is designed to pop-out if under any stress thus minimal damage to the bumper, cant stress enough how much of a bad move this is!!

Spanner - if you fancy selling one of those chin spoilers I'd love 1st refusal mate [:D] I'd even take the scratched one [:O]

I've tried to fit mine but can't see any way in which you can use the original mounting holes for the undertray.

The only way I can see to fit it is by drilling the bumper and I'm not going to do that.

If someone has done this and would like to share the knowledge eg step by step then I will reconsider

You need to drill some holes im afraid.

I tried searching VWVortex for a how-to but their search function is
down at the moment and google isnt too good at searching Vortex items.

So the options are to drill or stick on with sticky pads i believe.

Cluke - Mine only catches if I park too close to kerbs and occasionally at the bottom of the ramps at multi-storey car parks. Car is lowered 35mm

I say go for it as its a great looking mod, cheap and easy to fit and if anything stops you scraping the bottom of your bumper.

As for fitting, mine is held on with about 12 self tapping screws. These have not come loose or pulled out of the bumper and I'm pretty sure even if I really scraped the splitter on the ground it wouldn't even pull the splitter off, let alone trash my R32 bumper.

If worst came to the worst it would pull the thread out of the screw holes which is no big deal, just put bigger screws back in or drill new holes. Its all hidden underneath the bumper anyway.
