After reading a subject concerning R32 Vs PD150 (Remapped), it seems R32 drivers believe their cars are unbeatable by any other MK4.

Poll returned to normal, got a bit drunk last night & carried away[:I]

Totally different cars in my opinion and I think they both have their good points and bad points. I'd be happier in an R32 but as far as one whipping another an R32 would win every time. Not that it really matters, mind.

not really. I had a PD130 for a few days and the pull of the car is awesome but it runs out of steam very very fast. Great fun though but the R32 is the performance MK4 so nothing will be able to beat it, chipped or otherwise.

As I have been in the fortunate position of owning both at the same time.

my chipped 150PD had the oppotunity to scare many a fast car but against my chipped R32? Not a chance! even in gear it couldn't match the R. Although the TDI felt faster, because of the turbo winding up and torque steer! the R just roundly trounced the TDI...

Topics like these really make me laugh sometimes. I'm very sorry my TDI owning friends, but even a remapped PD150 will get nowhere near a standard R32. In fact, I've raced a remapped Octavia PD 150 in my standard V6 and he was soundly beaten.

Jace: have you got a silly poll fetish, or are you just a synonym for poll pot, or should I just call you King Poll[:D]

That made me look daft, eh? [:D] Well, the driver of the Octavia is a colleague of mine and it's his company car. I don't know a great deal myself about Skoda's range, and he just said it was a '150 brake' diesel that'd been remapped. Having looked at the Skoda website, you're quite right - there is no 150 brake TDI PD in their Octavia range. I'm going to pull him up on that when I next see him! I guess that'd explain why I beat him fairly easily!

Either way, my original point still stands - a remapped PD150 won't touch a standard R32.

I see he's changed the poll answers so that it looks like most people think that a 'R32 is like a 4x4 PD150' - like hell! Very sad!
