Hi guys help needed pls,

started car up and oil light came on a few hundred yards into journey got home 2miles to find it bone dry and oil everywhere on bottom of engine on the dipstick side. i took oil cap off and found some light sludge/gunk any ideas as to the oil loss so quickly anything cracked etc?

Hmmm. Ok, if it looks like oil may have come out of the dipstick tube that suggests crank breather/breather pipes blocked. White/grey sludge on the oil filler cap says there might be water in the oil which is the cylinder head gasket usually and if thats gone really badly spose it could leak oil to the outside too. For it to loose oil that fast though.......? Could be cracked block [:O] Need someone to have a good look at it to be honest.

I think I remember others having this happen on this forum and it wasn't anything disastrous. Just a blocked hose or pipe somewhere I think. Hopefully someone that remembers will be along soon. Try search function here in the meantime. Fingers crossed!!
