You're probably half right to be honest.

There's little point in sitting at home playing Ridge Racer on this
thing when you could be playing it on your PS2 on a proper TV with a
proper controller etc. Same with GT4 and GTA when they appear..

But conversely there are some excellent games purely for this machine.
Lumines.. fabulous and it's made better for being so portable. Wipeout
Pure (best Wipeout yet) and Medievil (love hate on this one, I love it)

In terms of pure handheld, the Nintendo DS is the better machine I
reacon, as the games are simply better designed for a portable device.
For the most part with the PSP they seem to be trying to cram normal
console games into this thing and frankly I don't know why or where
people are meant to be playing them.. GTA on PSP? Doesn't really make
sense TBA.. why'd you play it on the PSP as opposed to your PS2/Xbox?

I bought the latest PSM2 magazine today which has a great review on the PSP games & Accessories.

Would you need to purchase the clip on keyboard to access the internet via wire-fi ???

Nope, you can enter text via the PSP OS's text entry thing which is a
bit like a mobile phone method with shortcuts for .com, http, www etc.

The keyboard would make it a lot easier though. Fortunately the browser
does have proper bookmarks so you can store your favourites once you've
entered em. []

I tend to use it for just reading stuff like BBC news, UK-MKIVs, MINI2
etc. Consider it a nice gadget to read webpages on, If I'm gonna type
stuff in and post, I boot the PC up! []

Its damn handy to keep an eye on the latest footy or cricket scores when you're sat in the garden!!

Web browser + Lumines.. those 2 things make it great! []

What's the battery life like on them fellas?

I think maximum battery life is about 6hrs, which considering the grunt it has is pretty good really.

Apparantly it varies depending how intensive the game your playing is.... i've found it lasts me around 5hrs []

I believe Starbucks have a free Wire Fi service in their coffee shops to access the net.

first time - was impressed I have to admit - pretty nice bit of kit.
Good quality graphics for a hand held and the sound was excellent too.

Yep.. the browser means 2.0 which means no old games.. but you buy a PSP to play new games!!!

I'm sure its only a matter of time before it gets hacked though...

Yeah I got my JP one ages ago but its been collecting dust for abit too
, might go see what Games are avail. Oh and unlucky you guys cause I
think they come with the 2.0 firmware which dosent allow you to use
homebrew such as Doom and Quake on it etc.

Apparently there's a "downgrade" option so you can go back to 1.5 firmware

Not yet there aint..... theres a barrage of fake ones out there which turn your PSP into a brick with a screen!

I sold my UK one on ebay for what i paid for it, and bought a USA one
with firmware 1.50 on ebay brand new for the same price. Now running
emulators and all sorts on it... what a gadget

Bought 'Ghostbusters' today which seems to have the highest points review in the mags. Cannot wait for the Marsh Mellow man scene.
