have you tried starting with the accelearator pedal, does it still die when you press the pedal?
Problem starting up
My golf ran out of deisel on friday when trying to get out the snow,put in 10 litres of fuel and alls it is doing is starting but then cutting out, checked the fuel filter and pipes that go to and from it and deisel is flowing through, any ideas what it could be thats stopping it start properly?

Yeh it revs then dies out
