God, I forgot abou the Ambassador. That was even more terrible.

As for the Badger reference MikeP.....I almost know what you mean.

Plus, 'cos I know you're all dying to know that the top spec was:

2227cc 6-cylinder OHV with twin SU carbs

110bhp @ 5250rpm

125lbs/ft @ 3500rpm

Hideous car too, had a nightmare once a few years ago when I dreamt I owned one and was trying to pull in it...no kidding. Very weird, woke up in a cold sweat

The gearbox on my failed just as I was getting to the test centre for my first test... had to wait a month for another test! Bought a new car and gave the Agro back to my Mum!

My grandad had an Ambassador, built out of a peice of granite!! Comfy armchair seats though.

My mate's dad had a Austin Princess when I was a kid. It was a 2.2 Special Six automatic in black with a full length canvas sunroof. Kept falling apart, but the engine made a lovely 6 cyl howl. Much better than the 1750's anyway!

My mate was really disappointed when it got traded in for an '83 Nissan Sunny 1.3DX
