ill check the earth, is the earth for the lights located on the left side of the boot, behind the left light cluster?

would the brake ligh switch cause the third brake light to do that tho, i thought if the brake light switch was screwed it would either constantly keep the brakes on, or not put the brakes light on at all?

Im afraid I cant help you, but if you do discover the cause please let me know, becus i would quite like to do the third brakelight thing deliberatly...looks pretty awesome I reckon!
How does it?

Its a good way to get yourself pulled over, and a great way to fail an MOT.

Also its misleading to other drivers on the road and can therefore be dangerous.

Any light on the car that is not acting as it should do will cause an MOT fail, as you have to be able to switch them all on AND off and they ALL have to work correctly.

Hopefully someone will have an answer.
