Hey guys, wondering if anyone can help me out with this

The right side heat control dial in the center console turns freely until it tries to reach the demist position at the top.

The dial gets about 15 degrees away from the top and then jams up.

I've spoken to vw about it and they said that a flap that changes the direction of air may be jammed or a cable may be snapped/broken.

I had the schematics printed out of the center dash console from vw, so i could take it apart if needs be, but if anyone has had anyone this problem, hopefully i won't need to

Thanks

Kev

im sure its pretty much the same as the mk5 matey,

take the heater controls out, theres a flexible metal spring that connects the rear off the control dial and the system that rotates the flaps to redirect the air.

i would suggest that this is stuck ot caught on something.

check there first if i were you

I would agree with Chuff. It may have broken or got some dirt or something stuck in it.

As the dial just turns the redirecting air flap.
