Gary and I are getting our Tints done on the 27th and would like to see some pics of a Silver MK4 with 50% Tints on the side windows (front and rear).

Hope someone can come up with the goods!

Picture of my car with pentagon light smoke - which I believe allows 80% of the light through plus the 8% factory tint = a 72% tint.

So it is a bit lighter than what you are looking for[B)]

But I hope its useful anyway[)]

Those are 50% all around done by Liam (tinter).

The windows look a bit darker than normal cause of the sun reflecting off just washed (nxt) windows but it gives you an idea!

Hi GaryM,

seem to remember you were after a more subtle tint, I had my silver 3 door done on Thursday evening with 35% all round, I then went back to Liam on the Friday afternoon and had the sides swopped for 50% (left the rear)and am now really happy with it, 50% was just a little too in ya face for me but 50% is an excellent balance, ok it was an expensive mistake paying twice but am so pleased now, the guys are excellent and provide a very proffesional service, I will be coming up to Tinters place on the 27th so you can take a look at mine before you choose your shade[8)]

yeah, definately worth while! glad I didn't go any darker as I was trying to avoid the "drug dealer tints" type look really!

Don't get that effect on darker cars with darker tints but you quickly get that on the silver because of the contrast []

Proof of that is Cage and Amar's cars - they look great with the darker rears!

Thanks for that, Im aiming to get there for 10.30.

Josh mentioned the idea of getting 50% done on all sides and 35% on the rear, it seemed a really good idea but as you say it would be great to see yours prior to getting mine done in that tint.

Either way I'll definatly be getting 50% on the sides so will get Liam to start that first if you are only coming a little later.

I had 50% sides and 35% rear screen. Having seen MisterE's I felt that 50% all round was too light so I went for the darker rear screen just to lower the light level inside a bit. It is very slightly too dark for my taste now. I'm not unhappy with it but if there was something in between that would have been perfect for me.

GaryM, I'll be there for about 10.45, the guys have offered to help me fit my ali trim plus I may get to take a look at the R32 wheel before I order one so will be well worth the trip, see you then [^]

be careful of tinting your front side windows as the law changed in january 2004 ,basically saying you can not put any aftermarket tint on the front side windows.i have already had to remove a 50% tint from a range rover after he was stoped by the police and given a rectifacation notice.this could mean a fine and points.

With only a 50% tint on the front sides it doesn't look too dark so hopefully won't attract too much of the wrong attention, although Tinter has guaranteed to remove for free if requested so by the police.

The film comes off fairly easily, I know this because I went back to tinter to switch from 35% to 50% as I felt it was too dark for my personal tastes, he only charged a ?10 per window. Either way it is still illegal but so is recording DVD etc...if you catch my drift..

Seriously though, 50% tints should'nt attract attention from the Police as they are quite light.

Cheers for your help fitting the remainder of my ali trim Monday I would have been in a real mess had I replaced the ashtray with my own method ! It was good to see your car in the flesh the pictures dont quite do it justice and as for those seats....[^]
