Can owners of said Phatbox / Phatnoise tell me what they think of them.......

1) Sound quality

2) Ease of use

3) Funtionality

4) PC interface

5) Capacity

etc

etc

I have two USA suppliers who are pukka VW dealers who have them for around $340.....which is a total bargain.

Cheapest i can get in the UK from my usual dealer is ?500+ !!

if you love music, you will love the phatnoise!!

20gb cartridge, comes with usb2 docking station - basically an ipod but far more versatile!!

all my music is 192kbps so quality is as good as CD

no hissing although if you do not ground the earth at the cd changer cable you WILL get sound interference - alot of drama about people having a big huff and puff about their phatnoise and the hissing issue - personally, we fitted around 7 so far and every one has been pain free!!

Foxy they are a really good unit, I owned one for a few weeks but the sound interference totally did my nut in so i sold it (for ?100 profit) on ebay. Mine was wired in perfect but i still got interference.

With the Phatnoise, does it operate OK with the Gamma and MFD's? If one is bought for a vw, does it come with the lead to run it in the boot, or does a lead have to be purchased seperately?

Foxy, I might be interested in one of these instead of the boot changer option.

it uses the factory changer loom (not provided)

if you are looking to buy one from the states, there is one additional piece of hardware you need!!

imagine, your phatnoise is fitted - just when you think your ready to rock and roll.. DOH! you forgot that all important....

I assume the 240V adaptor is for the cradle on the PC.

Foxy, if at a later date, I decide to get one, would you be able to put me in contact with the dealer to get the excellent rate?

@RaamsK - you say "ask him to put it in the box" - is that extra cost? I know it's not included - my dealer in the UK has quoted me ?8 for the bracket and ?20 for the lead - perhaps another ?6 for the head unit adapter connector........do i need al that?

Can the westharford dealer in the USA supply the whole kit & caboodle then?

AFIAK all you need is the OEM changer lead fitted

we have not fitted one to a mk5 (yet!)

the westhertford chap can supply the whole caboodle!!
