I am currently insured by Admiral which offer a very competitive price but they do not allow performance mods (such as chipping) so if i want to go this route, does anyone know of any mod friendly insurance companies which are not going to rip me off?

Thanks

I tried greenlight yesterday, although they only wanted £150 extra for the mods i have planned their standard cover was £300 quid more than i pay at the moment so i am scouting around, unfortunately i seem to be penalised by where i live, my job, my age, no claims bonus only 4 years. etc etc.

Hi Sputnik,

I have a similar problem at the moment. Havent actually chipped the mota yet, but really want to soon.

I have been quoted an extra £135 for the remainder of this years policy (10 months) so I make that approx £160 extra per year, for a REVO re-map. This would take my policy upto high 700's.... 31yr old, full NCB, a non-fault accident in 1999. car on street overnight..

does this sound any good? its eaglestar. Tried greenlight, they would be about £750 but higher XS (£300)

Adrian flux is also supposed to be quite good, will try them tomorrow.

Cheers

Been having problems with Tesco Insurance. They wanted an extra £200 to cover my 17" TT wheels. That makes my total premium £1140!!

Just had a quote with Greenlight. [:p]. They came in at £850 including the wheels. Fantastic. Has anyone had to deal with them in the past? Whats their costomer service like? Any problems with claims?

Have you got any documentation from them yet? 6 months into my policy and still haven't got it all, they've been saying it's on it's way since last December!

Just come off the phone from a very helpful knowledgable chap from Greenlight...

You have no idea how happy I am. If all goes to plan and I can arrange a few things, it will cost me only an extra £250 on top of my standard car insurance to make the mods I want.

Not saying what they are but thought it was worth giving green light a bit of good publicity for being so helpful and the fact that some people are quoting me £1000's just for a chip!
