2003 Bora V6, passenger side outer CV Joint Boot clamp keeps falling off. I hope to tackle this next week (when the wheel locking nuts arrive) and need advice as to how to do this properly.

When I bought the car, this clip was loose; all other wheels are fine.
When I replaced the clutch last year, with drive shaft out, I replaced the clip and used the special tool to crimp it tight.
By the time car went for a wheel alignment, it was loose. The garage reinstalled it.

I recently noticed it was loose again.

Does the boot need to slide further to the outside?

I re-did my CV boots due to MOT ( safety inspection) and one of them spun a small amount of grease out after a few miles - it really needed a good extra crimp with the Oettinger clamp pliers even though I'd given it a good hard crimp beforehand, it's been fine since.

I wasn't sure if you'd pulled the clip off to reset it. If you just missed it, the boot will be working it's way back. Push it back up to give the boot more slop and fit new clip.

Beer points for me.

I looked through my photos, I did replace the inner clip before reinstalling.
You might be right, I may need to squash the bellows up a little bit, but the inner clamp still goes in a predetermined spot.
