Opinions on some pikey plastic trim...

Well now, I got my Genuine R32 trim kit the other day and fitted it in short order. As I plan to convert my car to climatronics in the coming months I bought the relevant kit, but for now I have manual AC controls. So, I bought a black plastic trim piece, rubbed it down and sprayed it in aluminium effect paint. Looked quite nice, albeit a little lighter than the genuine aluminium bits, though it needed lacquering. A very limited amount of rubbing down followed prior to lacquering (as per the lacquer's instructions). Came out like this:

Not an exact match, but it'll do for the 2 or maybe 3 months its gonna be on there. All the other trim bits are OEM Alu bits, only the heater control trim is plastic. Any comments?

Thanks to Patch and Paradox for the help with paint s election and cure time respectively.

Indeed [H]. Even when sat in the car, you can only really tell it's actually plastic when your about 3 or 4 inches away, further away just looks like a newer piece than the rest.
