Im not confused...honest [:D]

With the 42 draft kit you get an oil pressure relocation kit where you remove the original oil pressure switch and fit it on a new mount with the new switch for the guage.

see here

This connects to where the original one went so you effectively have 2 switches feeding from the same sourse.

For the oil temp on the 1.8t have a look where your pressure switch is on the side of where the oil filter sits. You can see a blank plug at the top.You remove this and fit the temp sender here.

ctp,

I assure you i am not confused. I have oil pressure AND oil temp guages in my car.Fitted both myself.

I fitted my OIL TEMP sender at the top of where the oil filter goes.

See number 10 of the image i posted before and you will see what i mean.

I only mentioned the oil pressure switch before to try and differenciate between the 2 for matt as i know his setup.

I have an AGU engine the same as Matts and the set up will be different to your TDI.[)]

Hope that clarifies.

Matt,

you basically have 2 options where you can fit the sender.the choice is yours buddy.

where can i get hold of a cheap oil temperature gauge and sender,

i just need one for test purposes, as i need to carry out a proper test on my car as i am still having trouble with it,

need to test the oil pump as i am not 100% sure that it works properly or not, need to test it first to make sure it is ok before i buy a new pump for ?100 and then realise the oil was fine and my problem is somewhere else

ive just got hold of a snap-on oil pressure tester, and need a temp gauge to know when the oil is at 80degrees
