i'm not sure what's involved retrofitting the cupholder but one question and dont take this the wrong way....can you not stretch to higher spec car as I bet there's other bits you'll want as well???? Presume your buying new?? If so, have you haggled dealer to an inch of his life to try and get a higher spec car for similar money?? This may be easier closer to MKV release date
I thought the latest Match models had climate. avus II, and lots of toys, basically using up leftover bits on the last MkIV "special edition" - suprised there's no cupholder
sorry, didn't really answer the question [:I]
It wont cause a conflict in terms of it working, but may making seeing the display, buttons etc on your stereo more difficult. Im sure you can retrofit it, I think its just the blanking pannel and the cup holder and mechanism is all one unit that slots in. About £40 I think?quote:

Would the mechanics of the drinks holder interfere with my stereo now?

I think they should be renamed "Can or Screw top bottle holder" As it failed to restrain a McD's size drink from soaking my passenger footwell on my ex-2.0GTI under acceleration and I know what you're thinking 2.0GTI and Acceleration is a contradiction in terms!!!!!
mate, pop onto ebay and check this outquote:

Hey all,
I am getting a Golf 1.4 Match, unfortunately it does not come with the drinks holder in the front console, nor is it an option [!]
Can I fit one myself or is it a real pain?
Any guides / picks would be great.
Thanks all
Good for a hangover[quote:
