Hi folks,

Just want to say hello - picked up a new mk4 today, 1.9 tdi (100bhp) in Bright green pearl - one of the rarer colours I'm lead to believe.

Looking forward to doing a few bits to it, understand a remap should take it up to 140bhp ish and 210nm with a smoother curve. Also wondering about where might the best place to get alloys (16s or 17s) on the cheap? And whether a rear ARB is the first thing to do to improve the handling?

Here she is:

Cheers,

Joe.

Looks tidy mate!

eBay is your friend when looking for new wheels! Also if your on facebook, search for VAG parts for sale groups. Plenty of sets always coming up for sale on there.

Anything 5x100 with a 57.1 centre bore will fit your Mk4.

Havent done a rear arb myself but ive heard it offers a huge improvement

Cheers mate. Yeah, read good things about the whiteline ARB killing the understeer. Not checked what tyres are on it yet, but might just wait until alloys are upgraded...

Any subtle gti mods that can be done on the cheap? lol

As mentioned, if you fancy a DIY job then you could pick up some spare rubstrips from a scrapyard and colour code them? Or go mental and do your own

List of cheap mods is endless mate
Look a few people build threads to get ideas.

Basic ones ive done are...

Metal pressed plates with LED number plate lights £20-30.

Stubby aerial £10-15,

Colour coded Sharan badge

Black interior rear view mirror £10

Mk5 rear wiper arm and blade. £10

Bora air vents for the interior.
