And they say it is awesome!!! Even go as far as to say its tremendous value for money.

It says it has reveived the spirit of the MK1 and bettered it!! Go get it - they love it and say it could easily win back the Hot Hatch Crown.

Its the fastest Golf since the MK4 R32, and will do 0-60 in 7.2 seconds, although they say it feels a lot quicker [:D]

why do they hyphenate all those words like de-liver and wind-ing??

And if theyve driven a prototype, why are they using some publicity shots and not one of their demo??

I thought they looked like publicity shots at first but I brought the magazine and most of their shots look like that. I don't think I've seen the particular pics in the article. Could be totally wrong though [:p]

Sounds like it's gonna be good though. They even say that the engine sounds great which is novle! LOL

It looks so good from the front and even the interior shots look good, but the back....hmmm..... I'm getting there but not quite yet.

The lower back bumper section will definetly need colour coding If I was going to plump for one of these.

I agree, I was behind a silver 2.0tdi last night (not for long [:)]) & its just too big an area not to be colour coded. Reminded me of the last shape 3 series when they came out with big grey bumpers[:(]

With you on the back end of the MkV, front I'm getting used to and now actually quite like, but that back end is all a bit Mr Blobby MPV for me. Can't remember where I saw it but a MkV with a very tasteful colour coded rear bumper/body kit - looked fantastic without being at all over-done, but at over a grand for the kit VW should have done a better styling job in the first place.

Found the pics.....

Not too keen on the front air-intakes, but back end is a huge improvement while remaining subtle...

When the MkIV Golf came out I seem to remember it not being available with colour coded bumpers and strips - perhaps VW will do the same with the MkV next year?

I want one too! Looks to me like VW have really put something into restoring some of the character that has been lost in the driving experience into the Mk5.

The journo doesn't just say it's better than the MkIV....he says it's better than the Mk1! Now that is praise indeed [:D]

Also....what is it with ugly rear's of cars these days. The Megane looks aweful and I can hardly say the new Focus or Astra are particularly attractive either. Perhaps it's some kind of BMW repelant......two uglies repel and as BMWs are always chewing the back bumper, they got away with making the rumps ugly as sin [:p]
