Never seen those wheels before...

Looks good...

Have you considered wheel spacers to bring the wheels out of the arches a little.

I agree with all above comments, i would add that i too think that the wheels dont look right on the golf, sorry mate.

Yes, those tyres dont look right, and the wheels also look too far into the arches, how wide are they?

I had to wait 13 weeks for these wheels so when I first ordered them this was the biggest size: 23.1 lbs / 18 x 7.5 so its what I went for.

I never concidered wheel spacers before what would peeps recommend? (size make etc..?)

Sonny what d'ya mean by the profile of the tyres looks wrong? in what way?

Anyways its nice to get some feed back on the beast! - I'll post my next photo sesh soon!

and EstorilBlue ya hit the nail on the head:

I think the wheels actually look quite nice, but the tyres are definately wrong, shouldn't they be 225/40/18,and NOT 215/35/18.

If they were the right size tyres, that would be a start on them looking better.

If i were you,i would go back to who sold you them and them they are wrong,as i am sure the rolling radius will have been affected, which will make your speedo read incorrectly.

Am i right anyone???

Personally I do like the wheels but they tyre profile is all wrong, they should be 225/40 R18. The overall rolling radius is too small now so the speedo will be inaccurate. There is a website somewhere that will calculate it.

. . . . anyone want to but some 18" 215/35 Toyo tyres? lol

Top Gear messed me around for so long (Oringinaly saying 2 weeks) I just wanted the the wheels on my car and to drive away never to go back! these are the tyres that they had put on the wheels already for me, and only charged me for 225/40's which were cheeper so originaly thought I was getting a good deal. Now that this has been brought up I can see what ya mean - I think getting spacers might be an option ontop too.

Haven't been in the modding scene for long so its a big learning curve for me - any comments good or bad appreciated <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Well as everypne else had said a 40 profile is needed on a 18 inch
wheel 35 profile tha tyou have would be ok on a 19 inch wheel but not
your 18's because the rolling radius is slightly affected and as a lot
of people have said it makes the car not look nice but change them
tyres and then it will all be sorted, and put on some spacers also. [y]

Unless you gave them the tyre size dimensions they should change them for you free of charge. They risk problems should you get caught for speeding when your speedo says otherwise.

Cheers for the feed back - I'm going to try and swap the tyres over and then have a look at spacers - just saving for the coilovers now! to take the beast off its stilts!

Don't let the negative feedback get you down, if you like them then that is all matters. If I see you driving about Basingstoke I'll give you a wave (not a camp wave like that sentance just sounded).

The wheels are ok but as others have said the tyres are totally wrong and the offset appears wrong as well but spacers should help with that.. Also what you say about price is incorrect, taking Toyo T1-R's as an example a set of 4 215/35/18's are ?354.80, a set of 225/40/18's are ?390.40. So a reasonable difference and if you paid for 225/40's you should insist that's what they give you.

As for the speedo being out with the current tyres it'll read 3.8% fast so at least you don't need to worry about going faster than you think, you'll actually be going slower.

Want a tip Send them back. Konig only offer 6 months warranty and those lips mess up quickly. They used to only give you out the door warranty so it's slightly better. I had Konig Holes and the lips are Diamond cut, they can be repaired but they have to be recut.

These where my wheels:-

lol - I drive around "Amaz-ingstoke" [^o)] alot, normaly Chineham / Lychpit area but am over Brighton Hill and Hatch Warren area every night! normaly trying to catch me mates Gaz's MR2 - might see ya round!

Where in Basinsgtoke area do ya take ya car for mods and fix's? A mate of mine knows the owner of Designadubs but havn't been yet. What else is there (Top gear is not an option - word of mouth has put me off and the amount of time they took getting my wheels.)

Designadubs have got my car at the moment. Finishing off the PD conversion and doing a few other bits. I've used them for about 3 years and never had a problem. You should pop in there just for a look at the customer cars they have on site...400bhp 2.0 20v mk1 Cabrio, 600bhp 1.9 20v mk1 running haldex, mk2 with Audi 2.7 bi turbo lump (same as Dubweisers) yet to be dyno'd but expect way over 500bhp. Its like an Aladins cave.

We'll have to arrange a Basingstoke meet. Plenty of people around the area now.
