Guys,

I posted this thread in the correct section (suspension and braking) but it appears to have totally disapeared,..what the feck is up with the new software ?

Anyway,

I have the oppurtunity to buy the rear 28mm at a really good price, but I have only the standard front ARB on my Gt TDI 130. Will just fitting an uprated rear end up in wayward handling ?

Or will it improve things and give me time to save up and fit the front one at a later date?

Comments appreciated.

Agree with Nik's comments.

On PD130 had 25mm Neuspeed rear ARB - a great improvement, really helps the car's handling.

On PD150 fitted front and rear H&R ARB kit - even better - having uprated fronts takes things to another level.

Thanks for the comments guys,

What about the difference in thickness, this is the 28mm one, not the 25mm item, would the effect be too much considering the thin standard front ?

ME thinks I can't really go wrong, but was just making sure.

Hi Nik,

I put the suspension on over the weekend, made a noticable improvement, many thanks[:p].

Do you know of anyone selling a Neuspeed 25mm front ARB ?

Or of any banner advertisers offering a nice discount on this [;)]??

Glad you like it. You could try Awesome GTi for the arb or just try
visiting any of the banner ads sites. I've been trying to get hold of a
front H&R arb for a while but there don't seem to be any and they
aren't getting manufactured until the end of May.

I have looked on Awesome's site for just the front 25mm Neuspeed ARB, but I ain't got the ?185 plus VAT right now [:O]!

A good budget solution would be to upgrade to the R32 front ARB.  It is beefier than the one you have which will help balance things out, and I believe costs c.?40 for the bar - you will also need bushes etc.  Maybe someone else can advise further?

The 28mm rear ARB will just improve the handling, it will not make anything feel wayward unless you really push the car on track days etc.

I would fit the rear and see how you feel, TBH i doubt you will feel the need to add a front one, but it's obviously up to you. I would only go for the front R32 bar if you do feel you need one, it is the rear bar that makes the most difference on the FWD Golf.

I'm new to Golfs so forgive my daft question...

I've got a GT-TDI 115, if I understand you guys correctly it's got a
front ARB (probably flimsy?) and no rear ARB as standard, is that right?

I want to keep stock suspension but want to get rid of the wallowy
handling, I take it a rear ARB is the way to go followed by an uprated
front if it's still too bouncy?

Does the geometry need re-setting after fitting the rear ARB?

Picked up the ARB this morning (cheers SImon, star man) and got it fitted at lunch time,..

WOW what a difference,[H] it compliments the Anni suspension fantastically, hard to imagine just how rubbish the standard suspension was that I had settled for all this time.

I will keep my eyes open for a Neuspeed 25mm front ARB to complete the set up, but for now, it is very nice and will do me just fine. Yet to see how it will behave in the wet though, a different thing alltogether !
