For those interested it is one of the last 456 maranellos and has about 450BHP, and makes my golf feel like an old roller skate[^]

Very, very nice. Makes such a relief also for it not to be the typical rosso/crema combination! Darker colours suit the larger cars so much better and thats a great colour combination.

As a second half 2003 I take it that it has the carbon bonnet?

Once again, very nice.

so I suppose you'd turn one down [?]. Personally, a 360 is definately something i would spend lottery winnings on - gorgeous looks & sound to match.

The 456 looks good from the rear, but the front doesn't do anything for me, but i'd still like to have a drive in one.

Is that Tour De France Blue? Thats the colour I want my 355 in [:D]

456 is one of the nicest Ferrari's, I would take a 550 myself but it is a superb car. Rare to - the thinking mans Ferrari.[;)]

What are the rear seats like? Is it a proper 4+4?

TBH he test drove the 360 and he had a 575 on loan whilst this one was deliverd and the easiest way to compare them is

The 360 is harsh and coarse with amazing and handling and the most awesome looks but it is strictly a 2 seater and you could not use it as a daily driver, it is more of a track day car, the 575 is F*****G scary it is completely impractical on our roads it cannot easily be kept to the national speed limit. However the 456 can it is silky smooth and biggest bonus of all is it has 4 seats and a boot so you can use it every day or on nights out you can take friends with you, theres a guy on pistonheads who has done 200,000 miles in 9 years in one.

Lets face it even if you can afford 2 cars your still going to want to drive the best one as much as possible and the 4 seats make this practical

Yes it has a carbon bonnet, and its a 2+2 the front seats are very spacious and my 6'4 mate can easily fit in and the rear seats have a good 6 inches more all round than a Jag XK8.

My God. Looks a bit too much like a ford Probe for my liking!

Trully the Capri of the Ferrari World!! LOL

My friend runs a specialist ferrari business. 308s 348s etc all seem very harsh, so when he had a 355 in recntly, with the active suspension, we thought it would be the biz! Better indeed, but still a very harsh crash car on normal roads, its no 996 Porker put it that way.

Then came the 360 Modena......!! OMG, whata noise, what a looker. Drove far nicer too. I found it tricky to get too excited about ferraris till I tried that thing!

Ferrari's are harsh - they are sports cars, not a Lexus! I have been in a few and loved every one, I cant believe you dont get excited by them!

I remember my first drive of a 355 berlinetta, I could not stop smiling for about 3 days, and the drive was the exact harshness I was hoping for! Its a car you HAVE to drive, the softer they get the worse for me - the 355 I drove was fantastic, real concentration required.....but that might have been because it was worth 80k at the time[:D]

I am not sure if I am more amazed by the car or the fact that your Dad parked it up on the KERB!! Aarrgh [:O]

Crikey - I hope the wheels/front spoiler are OK? Wouldn't want to try that myself with a Ferrari.
