Its absolutely gutting. I would have known if I had run over the thing, I havent scraped it in a while, so can't of been anything like that, went to work with it on on Thursday, came home without it. So now I just have the bumper and nothing underneath. It did look like this:

Now it just looks as if I have 2 foots worth of clearance (something I moaned about not having when I had it on!) Can't get any pics at the moment though as its parked with the bonnet up to the garage.

I can't really justify getting another oettinger lower lip even though I do have the full kit. Basically because they cost to much for what they are and secondly I don't want to keep scraping the thing.

Does anyone know how much they cost anyway?! Also, does anyone have any suggestions as to another lower lip I could use. I can't leave it like it is. Was thinking the standard lip painted to match but that would probably look a little pap.

Damn scroats. I can only think it was nicked. Like I say, if I ran over that I would know about it and I only reverse out of the drive, and it's not there. [:(]

Can't they just leave things alone?

Unlucky mate, another alternative lip could be as you said colour
coding the original lip or go for a gli lip and colour code that one,
as thats got a more beefier image to that one, also it looks a bit like
the anni one for the golf if that helps.

Clucking bell. That is crap news mate.

Go for the 4mo valance as per mine - we'll be even more similar [:D]
It's ?44 from VW. Or if you're splashing out see if Caractere do
anything similar as Foxy has a good group buy going with 25% off!

It is hard to nick though. They'd have to undo the 2 screws in the
wheel arch (which are torx and hard to get at if your car is lowered -
as i have found out! and pulling it off aint the easiest of things to
do without being seen.

Keep an eye out on your journey to work just in case it got pulled off
- and have a look underneath for any broken plastic where it may have
sheared off.

Those were my thoughts Rich. But then it's so clean, no tears in the plastic or anything, ran my hand along underneath to see if anything had broken (tempting cutting myself) but everything is smooth.

Theres no halves or even bits of the lip on the way to work either. One of the first things I did when I noticed after getting back from work was drive along the road looking, nothing to be seen apart from someones hub cap [:(]

Then I thought 'well how could they do it in a car park in broad daylight', but what would you do if you saw someone on the floor doing that? You'd think they were doing something to their car. I park it in the same car park all the time, so I'm now worried that they obviously know the car and my bodykit will deminish to nothing, I'm looking for the side skirts when I get out now!

Police obviously are not interested, told me to claim on the insurance.

Think I might take your advice and go down the 4mo route. Shouldnt look too out of place hopefully, certainly a lot less money than the oettinger part and I was having probs with it scraping anyway.

Just so annoying. Looks pretty awful at the moment, even the girl I picked up the other day noticed! When a girl notices you know its bad!

You got any pics of yours so I can see exactly how it would look!? [:)]

Ahhh, that will be absolutely fine! The normal one would look weird I think. See you have the vent scoops too, hmmm! Might be worth getting them at the same time. Thanks for the pic mate.

I'm also looking at an R32 bumper, but can I find on cheap!?

My Ex's Dad! He's done all my spraying so far and won't accept any
money. He likes the practice. I'm gonna get him to do both valances
again at some point (maybe next year after the winter) and get rid of
the 'bobble' affect plastic that it comes with so i can shine it up
with the rest of the car. I thought i was a good idea to leave it but
no. Filler primer it is!

oooo, I just noticed something, lol, following suit!

How confusing! [:D]

I might give this painting lark a go myself. If I go wrong, I'll take it down to the local garage who do spraying!

As long as you've got the right equipment its easy. You can do the
primers and top coats with aerosols from proper paint suppliers. The
colour is properly matched and the nozzles on the can are fanned to
give a better coverage. You don't get as good a paint thickness and its
costly but for little bits its good. The only thing i wouldn't do with
aerosols is laquer. You need a good 2pack laquer i think so i leave
that to Nic's dad. (although he normally does it all anyway.)

I pay about ?8.00 a can that has done my new grille (about 3 coats) with half a can left.

You can buy a litre of colour for about ?20 that will just about do a car.

I have thought about getting all the kit myself but while the main bits
are cheap enough - compressor and gun, its the other bits that add to
it and you need to know you've got a steady supply of people who want
stuff done so it'll pay for itself.

Maybe once i've got my own place i'll do it.

WTF [8o|] You're having some real bad luck with valve caps and now this.

Then I thought 'well how could they do it in a car park in broad daylight', but what would you do if you saw someone on the floor doing that? You'd think they were doing something to their car.
I'm not so sure. A public car park would not be the place to be taking off perfectly fitted body kit. I have considered fitting a lower strut brace in a car park (a recent meet - but worked out how to do it a few hours before arriving) but that's putting stuff on, not taking it off!

Well, according to awesomeade

Some do and some dont, we've seen both... they blatantly look cheap
and if you just offer them to the car you can see they arent going to
fit straight!
So best if you try & get one from somewhere you can pick up, and
take your Bora along to measure it up before you part with your cash...
