Here's some pics of my new toy [^] seen a few others with them on here, was gonna fit it inside the first aid comartment where changers go but it was more hassle to fit the changer bracket and cut the compartment door - so I fitted it here.

Thing is it's sort of on show isn't it so whenever I open my boot anywhere people can see it, and I don't want some little tramp thinking "Oooh I like that shiny silver thing in there, I think I'll smash my way in, rip it out and swop it for a 20 quid bag of smack"

I was thinking of some kind of fake wheel arch in the same material as the side panels to cover it - any ideas???? Obviously if anyone ever broke in by chance and looked for something they'd find it - I just wanna stop opportunist charva thieves!

One alternative is to never use my boot!! [:D][;)]

Hope these photos work! Never done it before!

Why no replies boys - you must be able to think of something!

Anyway even if you haven't - what does everyone think of these systems? I've heard and read conflicting reports - some say it's the best thing they've ever bought - others say they 'buzz' and give out interference. I haven't had any probs yet but I haven't put many of my own songs on it yet, still getting the hang of it.

Tell you what tho the voice on it gets on my tats - sounds too much like Stephen Hawkins [:D]

20 gig memory cartridge and you can buy even bigger ones. I was over in America last month and I got it for 400 dollars - about 235 quid - total bargain as I've heard they're 800 - 1000 optional extra from the stealers! Smuggled it back in my suitcase to avoid import duty and tax - nice - Rooneys tart didn't manage it!

Ah I know the 6x9 wires look a mess but the cables aren't long enough - I'm gonna extend them when I get a chance just been busy gettin the phatbox installed!

400 dollars in America - you can get them from the phatnoise website but you'll obviously have to pay shipping and import duty as well - not sure how much that'll come to! I've seen them on ebay as well from American sellers in the motors section - I know 'the chief' on here bought his on ebay - however he sold it again as he had interference problems!

If I'm ever over there again I'm gonna fetch another one or two back and flog them on ebay - should get around 400 quid for a brand new boxed!

Haven't YET! but I seen your topic on here and noticed you had probs, and I seen you flogged it on ebay - was shatting myself when I seen that after all the hassle I went to get it! I did some digging anyway and I've got some bloke's email from Phatnoise in America - he's apparently very helpful and can supply some sort of 'whine eliminator cable' don't know how good it is - but I'm gonna fill the cartridge up this weekend and use it properly - if I get any probs I'll email him and see what happens.

Fingers crossed I don't have to like [;)]

Lee, have you noticed any interference yet when the engine is started/ignition is on?

It's a PhatBox mp3 music keg or jukebox - whatever you want to call it. It basically works like a cd changer but plays mp3's which you load onto the cartridge from your pc.

Yeah "grandmaster flash and the" it's more or less the same except it speaks to you!

Not really that clued up on mp3's and ipods etc. I only got it cos I heard they were good and I had the chance of a cheapish one!

How much memory have those itrip things got?

Looks nice, am I missing something though. Its an mp3 player, just like an ipod. I use itrip in the car, and it works great for me. I can then take it out and listen to it whilst I'm at work.

Anyway - any ideas on how to cover it??????????????

My shelf is 'stealth' and is covered with acoustic carpet - I'm looking for a similar concept to cover this thing! Might sound daft to some of you but there's some dodgy feckaz round mine and just wanna hide it.
