Well after 2 months of waiting and a messed up order, my new Golf has landed at the dealers.[:D]

The blue cloth interior looks very nice as opposed to the standard and somehow I have got a black dash and steering wheel instead of grey. The 17 inch Indianapolis fill the arches well in comparision to the Imolas. However I was wondering have they added an arial to the car. There is a Stub where the arial would be on a Mark 4 or is that the tracker or someting like that?

Will post some photos whren I work out how to upload them from my phone.

Can't wait till I get my hands on it.[:D]

Got more photos yesterday as I had to go and pay for the car, biggest cheque I have wrote in my life. I then went home and my girlfriend has misplaced the lead to load them on to the computer, doh.

As regard the stub, thanks for the suggestions, but I only upgraded the radio, so no sat nav or phone prep, so I don't know if it is new as this was built after the price change in April. Also unsure of another thing, on the VIN there is a number 6 before the factory letter of W whereas the others on the forecourt have a 5. Would this indicate a 2006 model, or just a production line change?

The 6 may indeed indicate that you've got a 2006 model. It was about this time last year that the 2005 models started appearing. The stub is also unexpected so that might be one of the changes.

The vw website is still showing the 2005 model price list from 26th May but they usually seem to lag behind the cars being delivered.

If you have indeed got a 2006 model, you're the first on here so congratulations and please find that cable and upload the pictures.

Yeah the interior is similar to this but the cloth is a light blue and the chrome strip around the door and the glove box and if my memory serves me right the arm rest is the same as the upholstery.

Will try to get them on tonight as I have a crappy digital camera that I know I have a lead for.

This is good news! Since it's launch my only serious gripe with the Mk5 has been the interior. More specifically the dash.

I think the general opinion is the Mk4 interior has a better feel/look than that in the Mk5. Less plastic looking if you know what I mean. For me the major reason for this was the use of grey instead of black plastics. When I come to getting a Mk5 I defo. want it with black....it looks so much better to me!!!

Sorry I have not got any photos yet. Found the lead but something wrong with my computer as it won't load Nokia Suite for my phone.

I was hoping to get the car today as the money left my account on Thursday, but it will be some evening next week as they have not finished the PDI on the car, as there are stickers on the wheels and in the windows etc but the flaps numberplates and the nut covers on the alloys are on so I suppose that is something.

I do indeed have an aerial on the car, which is a bit of a shame as I liked the look without it, so I suppose this means it is a 2006 model as none of the rest in the car park have one.

Got the call yesterday to stay I could pick it up last night, was in work yesterday with the cheesiest grin on my face you have ever seen.[:)]

I managed to get a litre of oil in a nice little bag and some screenwash off the salesman too, after a little persussion, thanks guys. And it even had the bottle opener which surprised me greatly.

When I got it on the road it drove very nicely with a bit of rumble with the 17s but it is something you learn to live with and also the whistling round the front drives door.

Overall very pleased with it, but not have a proper play with it yet, but intend to print off the hints and tips page to have a proper play at the weekend and hopefully get some pics up
