Fancied a change of car at work - so got myself a Clio 172 Cup. [][]

I am surprised how feckin quick it is ... added o the excitment of the pouring rain and no ABS [xx(][xx(]

It looks like i'm in for a fun couple of weeks / months !!!!!!

What's the difference between the Cup and standard Clio 172 ?

The Cup has lighter alloys, and other options removed to give it a total of 80kgs lighter than a normal 172 model..

Do they only come in the flashy blue colour??

The power to weight ratio is awesome and they will shift...

No A/C, ABS, Spare wheel, xenons, sound deadening. Wider track, lower suspension.

They now do them in silver as well as the blue - I have blue.

Awesome little rocket mate not much between 172 and R32 up to 80mph. Have you seen the gear change light yet at 7250rpm by crikey!!!!! My mate has the old version of the 172 and the clutch is sublime! So much better than VW clutches!

I haven't yet come across anyone that really wants to race me in the R32! had loads more tussles when i had the Anni!

I've encountered that very same phenomenon, Fly!! I just know that the 2 lads that work for me have a Clio 172 (old shape) and a Astra Coupe Turbo and the R32 only just has the edge in a straight line! But off the line? No contest see ya! So go find some fun matey!!!!!

Ive spoken to the guy in the local Renault garage and if you give it time, they will make a 182 cup !!! Can you imagine the power to weight ratio on that ?? - I had one for almost a year, until some fool crashed into me and wrote it off ! - Even though I like my GT-Tdi, it isnt a patch on my old Cup... and as the civic type R goes, the cup will keep up to about 130mph, I didnt want to take it over that cos I was bricking it. If you wanna see a pic of my mangled cup in the hedge, let me know !!!

The 182 is already made - Evo reviewed it this month. They were quite unanimous in their verdict... "The best hot hatch, ever".

The bloody 172's are quick enough.. i had big trouble keeping with one yesterday.
