Reliable!? Are you having a laugh?!?

It will undoubtedly be very fast with nearly 400bhp, but reliable?

I've only ever driven a standard one, but I was so unimpressed with it. There was mountains of turbo lag, and before the turbo came on it felt no faster than the 1.4 Clio I had at the time!

Admittedly the one I drove wasn't running right (the turbo was overboosting so you would get lag, then boost for a short while, then once it got to full boost it would cut out) but it still just felt like a standard Escort inside.

Sorry to pee on your camp fire, but they're not my cup of tea! Hope you enjoy it though!

stevo u probly drove a shagged one, mine has a very big spec low compression etc, its used about 4 ish days a week and is fine, the standard chassis can take twice the power which is impressive. All the work was done by GGR who are well know and the quality is up there to a Tee! i drove a standard one a few weeks back and was very impressed with it. But any ways....!

Yeah, the one i drove was shagged. My mate owned a garage and he took the Cossie in part-ex for his own E36 M3.

I swear the car was jinxed- within about two months of getting it the turbo had blown, it dumped it's oil all over the road numerous times, he hit a dog which ran out in front of him, he ran into the back of a volvo at traffic lights, his fiance dumped him, and someone tried to steal it while out on a test drive!!![:O]

Suppose it ain't fair to base my judgement on that, but i don't like Fords!

Anyway, i'm sure you'll have better luck with yours!

Please tell me this is only linked to fords? Can just imagine telling Claire "hiya babes, good news and bad. Good news is that the golfs gone, bad news is that my penis has shrunk..."

Her reply: "didn't think it could get any smaller...." [:D]

Escort Cosworth's, looks good, has a nice engine (costs a fortune to maintain) & is well overpriced.

I considered one before I bought my Impreza Turbo two years ago although an '94 L plate was over £14,000 for a good one.

My '97 R Scooby only cost £10,800 with less miles. Anyway the Scooby's are a lot more common now and are still a great car, but are as expensive to run & service than a Supercar.

Cheers
