well guys i know its been a while, but im BACK !!!!!!! Since my shame of 186bhp at the Essex rolling Road day .. ive been undercover .. but im BACK !!!! with my GOLF ANNIVERSARY !!!!!!!! 32k .. black ,, AND ITS MINT !!!!!

Ive been to jabbasport today .. only went for an induction kit ... but then they mentioned their rollers were free for the afternoon, they aksed me if i wanted a remap .. i ws like .. hmmm hmmmmmmmm .. then after much persuasion i thought sod it ... do it !!!! and all i can say is OH MY GOSH !!!!!! its like sheet off a shovel !!!!

220bhp and 230lbs torque !!!!!!!!! amazing power now .. and the induction kit sounds lovely !!

their customer service was excellent ! in the waiting room there was a 3piece leather suite !! 25" Toshiba TV .. and an XBOX with DVDs and games .. so passing time was piss easy .. all i can say.. is that if any of you are thinking of a remap for your 1.8T .. Jabba are the guys !! they do a propa custom map (taliored to your car) with R R graph .. for ?475 including VAT !! definitely worth it .. the gains are mindblowin ! id recommend them to anyone !

Glad to hear you're happy, and ?475 isn't a bad price for a remap... I bet it's not that cheap for a big turbo conversion remap though! [:(]

Yeah you read that correctly... the big increase is more to do with the fact that it's a diesel though I think. The guy before me was getting an increase of only 12bhp on his Vectra 2.5 V6. There is no 3piece leather suite, 25" Toshiba TV etc etc..but approx 50bhp for ?175 is money well spent if you ask me.

They are located in Bromsgrove near Birmingham and their web addy is www.chippeduk.com

That's some difference in price to the likes of the others offering the same sort of thing. The market needed a bit of a shake up price wise, this will put a cat amongst the pigeons!

Cheers.

to be honest i wouldn't touch the guys who simply put in the computer and press a button..

the software is usually not designed to provide a worthy map for performance and reliabiltiy.. and is the usual case of just upping boost, increasing fuel and air intake to give a bigger BHP so that the customer can tell the difference between stock..

the above tends to strain the engine and usually wears the engine alot quicker than a proper remap...

to be fair if you had a 150bhp desiel then you should be seeing around 185bhp and 300lbs/ft maybe a little more..

205 out of a chip is good but i wouldnt like to see things go wrong.. and not have a come back on it.

Well i will start by saying I'm no expert in this area atall but in my opinion the guys that are charging ?400 - ?600 are just having a laff. A standard engine is a standard engine as far as i am concerned, therefore a good tried and tested ecu program for that particular engine is good enough for me and why shouldn't it be as simple as plugging in the laptop and pressing a few buttons? This is how it's done after all. I decided not to see fancy graphs and sit on leather chairs playing the xbox while they clicked those buttons.

Half a day on a rolling road is not going to be cheap, 40-50 quid an hour for rollers and operator is common.

That's the main reason the cost is higher for custom stuff.

Nice one [Y]

I dont want to put your figures down, but I think you'll find the true figure to be about 185bhp/290lb

I had mine done back in march & their RR quoted 208bhp, but when it was run on JBS it was about 185bhp.[au]

That's the same price they quote for their IHI BT remap. I doubt it's any different for any other turbo.

i dont know really mate. didnt ask about wireless internet there at all . jus played NFS on the Xbox. customer service was excellent too. them lot really know what theyre doing .. the power delivery is unreal !! the torque is amazing.. im not feeling the induction noise so i took the jabba induction kit off dn just put ma standard box back on .. power now comes in silently !! haha no roarin or nothin .. Jabba said it wont affect the remap havin the ind kit on or off ... wat u think guys ??????????? ill jus have it on when im goin on some cruise .. or RR day or summin ..

and JACE mate.. u reckon ill have 185bhp ? and 290lbs ???? HUH ?? when my anni has 180bhp standard ? how does the toque then go from 173 (wat i had first) to 290 ??????? how does that work then ? im happy with what they quoted me ..

if i wanted it put back to standard (eg when i come to sell.. if i do lol) .. that shud be easy for them to do shudnt it ??

Vinny, you have a 1.8T don't you? Your figures look about right.

The figures Jace quoted are what you would expect from a PD150 / 130.

i wasnt aware that REVO have reduced their prices at all. hmmm .. but i wudnt go with them again, as their map is a generic one and doesnt take the cars attributes into consideration, whereas jabba LIVE map the car on rollers, so its more tailored to the individual car. they said the REVO uses alot of turbo power .. as in puts strain on the turbo. im happy with jabba ... the car flies now lol .. cheers

from the website www.chippeduk.com :-

We can offer 3 main services.

1) Chip Tuning.
This is where we replace your existing EPROM (Chip) inside your car?s DME (E.C.U) for a Chip which has a modified file programmed onto it.
This will in almost all cases give sharper throttle response, Improved power and better fuel economy.
2) Remapping.
This is where we upload a file to the car via the car?s OBD port.
This is called "Flash Tuning" and is the way most modern cars are programmed and offers great flexibility in tuning options whether your car is has a Petrol or Diesel engine.
3) Live Mapping.
This is something we specialise in.
With this option we Map (Programme) the car whilst you drive it.
This is perfect for people with modified cars who are after something more than a "Generic" remap, With this option your car will always give the very best results.

Our aim is to keep prices VERY affordable so with this in mind we have set out a pricing structure that we believe to be the BEST value in the UK.

As a guide our prices are:

Chip Tuning: ?75 - ?150
Remapping: ?125 - ?275
Live Mapping: ?125 - ?300

We sure you will agree, These prices offer outstanding value when compared with our rivals.

Some of our recent work includes:
BMW 330d from 184hp to 235hp
BMW E46 M3 from 334hp to 342hp (live map)
BMW E36 M3 from 283hp to 304hp (live map)
Ford Galaxy Diesal from 110hp to 145hp
Porsche 997 3.6l from 352hp to 379hp (part of power upgrade)
VW Golf Diesal from 150hp to 205hp

I can see some very interested people taking a trip to Bromsgrove!
