Well guys my missus really wanted me to post some pics of her car, she says she is a mkiv forum widow, and she feels left out so here is her motor. Sadly its not a VW, trying to get her to by a Lupo GTI though.[?], She has been using claybar on it today ready for the pics.

Sorry guys forgot to mention its only a Mini One but its fully loaded with most extra's including cooper S wheels and chrome pack, only 90bhp ( bless ) although she is looking into the AMD chip upgrade for it that will take it to 130bhp not bad for ?330 hey.

The exhaust amongs other things gave it away though a very nice car it is.

A 40bhp increase from a chip on a NA engine? thats nearly a 50% increase, are those figures correct?

Yea Gary i was very suprised too, but it takes it too 5-10bhp more than a cooper.Superchips do the same one, must be the same engine as the cooper or something as standard and its just limited.

the mini one's engine is basically a restricted mini cooper (not S! and yes there are other differences!)) engine and the butterfly in the throttle body is restricted to limit the power output. So yep a rechip take's it up to be almost the same as the coopers engine.

ChrisStevens,

The boot is pathetic on them basically my laptop bag and gym bag filled mine when I had it. If you like your golf and the quality of the golf you will not like the mini. I had one and loved it on the test drives (both test drives where for over an hour) and ordered one as soon as I had it I realised it wasn't that great and sold it as soon as I could.

I'm not bashing the new mini here, they do look pretty cool from the out side and the inside looks good (although they use really chepa plastics that are easily marked!) as well it's just that in my opinion the build quality is awful, the ride is worse and you need to thrash the pants of them to get them to go any where (meaning rubbish fuel economy - my R returns similar MPG figures to my cooper S!) If I didn't travel the miles to work eash day I do I may have kept minei for longer - but I doubt it...

And if you do get onoe ditch the run flat tyres ASAP as they kill the ride and handling, a simple change to normal tyres results in a nicer ride and much better handling.

Sounds like the mini has just come off my list then! It had to fit my golf bag in the boot among other things.(I know I was pushing my luck what with it being a mini and all)

I can't imagine why she wants to bin that for a Lupo GTI - just chip it!

Because the lupo will be a lot quicker even after being chipped and has a nicer quality interior, has a nicer engine (the mini's engine is a chrystler enginer built in Brasil, do I need to carry on? The Mini was/is a fad car!

Very nice! The cooper S is on my shopping list a a possibility for my next car.

How big is the boot on those things?

The boot is non existant enoug for 2/3 large laptop bags dont even think about a suitcase and the back seats are as small as Jag Coupe!

Wouldnt believe it really as the car is nearly as big as a golf
