Well....i'm ready to be flamed for modding a limited edition car but I don't care, I love it!! [:p]

Just before xmas, I was offered an OEM R32 front bumper for a price I just couldn't refuse, it was removed from a Diamond Black .:R and came complete with grilles and number plate plinth. I bought it with the intention of selling on for a nice profit but I was so bored over the xmas break I thought what the hell and fitted it just to see what it would look like on my car. I fell in love with it so bought and sprayed up some washer caps and then finished off the look with a Leon Cupra R front splitter.

The bumper itself was mint, just a few minor scuffs which polished out quite easily. The bonus being it was Diamond Black so I didn't even need to get it painted!

I still have my original Anni bumper and valance stored safely in my shed so I can switch back at anytime - probably when I sell the car which is a long way off yet.

Here's a few pics I took this afternoon after a clean, rubbish pics and a cheap camera but you get the idea [:)]

I love it Sem, as I said at Awesome I think it looks great! [Y]

Cupra splitter really completes the look too, ups the aggression.

Have you wired up the headlamp washers? Handy upgrade into the bargain if you did - I would dearly like them to "legalise" my retrofit xenon kit.

Who says "Annis" dont have soul? [:p]

bad comments?? nooo I am sure Sem, that you won't get any!

It looks immaculate as usual, I love the finish of the RCs and will be having mine redone to the same finish one day soon! Are they the black chrome or shadow chrome?

thanx, Pat

Looks great that Sem. Wasn't sure about the idea at first but having
seen it I think it works well. Also puts my car to shame on the
cleanliness stakes!!.

SEM you lcr splitter, did you fit it yourself? and if so did you just sandwich it between the bumper and the skid plate/panel thing?

how sturdy is it just sandwiched in there?

Cheers guys, not the response I was expecting going on some of the recent threads on here re: modding limited edition cars.

Everything i've done is easily reversible apart from the R32 brakes - I sold my original Anni brakes so reverting back to them won't be so easy!

@James - I don't have headlamp washers but I had a brief chat with Baker21 at Awesome and he can supply the retrofit Hella kit so i'm considering it, as you say it will make my xenons more legal.

@Pat - The wheels are black chrome.

@Sat - I was going to lower on coilovers about 6 months ago after reading may threads, I don't want to sacrafice ride quality and apparently the standard Anni height is perfect. I agree, it would look much better a bit lower tho!

@dubzter - I don't have the R32 undertray so I couldn't sandwich the LCR splitter between that like the yanks install them on Vortex. TBH that method doesnt look very secure. Mine is bolted to the bumper - i've used 1 inch diameter washers (with a small hole) on either side of the bolt. My dad also machined a custom nylon spacer for the centre pin (you may be able to see it in the pics). There is a bolt going through the centre of the LCR splitter into the spacer and then through the centre hole on the R32 bumper. The splitter was held onto the bumper using G clamps - I heated it up gently with a heatgun to mould it into the contour of the bumper. The splitter is rock solid and won't be falling off in a hurry - In total I used about 20 bolts!

@Sonny - Yeah defo need to sort out this brum meet!

Once again, cheers [Y]

Don?t you guys think fitting a front R32 bumper
and not the rear looks odd? The front is smooth and the rear has a rub strip
in. This gives the impression you don?t
know what you want. I?m going to get
slated over these comments.

Don?t you find the Anniversary kit special enough?
I would be proud do own and Anniversary.
Sem you said everything you?ve done is reversible, good on you.

Loose the R32 front bumper unless you?re
going to do the rear bumper as well.

Just my opinion

I don't think it looks odd at all......the MK5 Golf has rub strips up front but a smooth rear, does that look odd?

Not really no, theres too many Anni replicas out there....all down to these cheap kits [:(]

I have been thinking about an R-Line rear......need to find one at a good price though [;)]

Cheers for the comments [Y]

R line rear will look good if you go that way. Another R32 replica. [;)] Sem at the end of the day, if you like it thats what really matter.

Well done ! Whats your secret in keeping the car looking so clean.

Sem your car looks great... I don't think the photos do your car justice as the car looks even better in the flesh. Good work mate.
