Hola people!

As some of you may know ive sold my Golf GT TDi 110 and now have a Bora SE 115 PD TDi.

I filled the tank from the fuel light being on and it took ?47, ive now just done 510 miles on that and the light back on, does that seem ahout right?

I guess its about the same as I was getting from the Golf, but I was hoping with it being 6 speed that it would be a bit better, this 510 miles consisted of 2 200 mile round trips and the rest town driving, booting it a bit I spose as its still new to me, lol

I going for an Upsolute chip again after xmas too!

Cheers for any input

Dave

The highest I have had is 62.3mpg!! (went from Cheltenham - London - Dartmouth - back to London = 630 miles

I usually get 51-54 MPG (30 mile journey to work!),Miles wise I get 500-550 from a full tank normally!

Mine is a PD115, no remap (yet) just the Green cotton, pd130 Maf, and that N7j valve thingy!! she has done 80k now.

Hi Dave,

A range of 510 miles is ok. My PD130 Bora (with six speed box) has a
range of about 550 miles on the work trip (20 miles mainly on hilly A
roads with a little town driving).

A long motorway run results in a tank range of 600 - 620 miles for me.
My girlfriend averaged 62 mpg between Bath and Leeds the other week.
After critcising her driving a while back for accelerating too hard,
this is one she won't let me forget [:$]

such a reassuring thread! i too have been a bit concerned of late with how many miles im getting to the tank in my 115. the last time it was 485, but that was only 25miles with the red light on before i panicd.

my average consumption is in the high 40's, with mid 50's on any short motorway trip. the highest ive hit is 63.1 on a 30mile motorway journey (baring in mind in northern ireland, the longest motorway is about 35miles).

how many miles should you be able to travel on the red light, out of interest?

I usually get 52-58mpg on any journey more than 5 miles or so. On a
long run I usually get 58-63mpg but a few weeks back it had one of
those "not gonna use any fuel today" days and averaged 69mpg on a
120mile run from Preston to Darlington (half motorway half
A-roads). I was pretty amazed at that, hadn't been hanging around
much. Sometimes after a few miles it just seems to breeze along
and you hardly need to touch the throttle at all and still make good
progress. I can't remember getting less than 500 to a tank.

Today it averaged 52mpg on a 180mile round trip to the lakes, including
going over the hardknott pass and Wrynose pass (anyone else on here
been over those!??) and sitting for an hour stationary on the M6 coming
home.

What a great car!

Cheers for all the responses guys [:)]

I always kinda felt that 100 miles per ?10 was good and anything above was a bonus, for example I would of expected 470 at least from my last fill up, so 512 was ok, I dont run them with the light on any longer than I have to

On my Golf I could easliy get 60+ mpg on the computer, not sure how accurate that is, it does seem more challenging in the Bora though, 56.9 is my best so far, lol

Im hoping after the chip is done the mpg will rise like it did on my Golf [:D]

I've never even broke 500 out of a tank yet :(

Prob is my journey to work is 12 miles of hilly motorway each way and I do a lot of short journeys.

And I have no interest in driving like my grandad

Fuel economy did increase with the remap though

generally I get 460-485 before the light comes on
