Nice investigation and very thorough.

I can only add my Ed30 AC leak was from the high pressure side sensor, an aluminium riser just above the compressor area. Evidently this was caused by a bad batch of sensor epoxy. Hissed like a cobra.

So it was the same issue as mine!

The sensor epoxy fails.

I think my OEM sensor was £47.

Great result.

Yep, the riser is like a Schrader valve, the system is closed despite sensor removal. Bloody big spanner in a tight space, 21mm? Also it needs shocking to remove, flimsy aluminium riser.

This was a free VW repair IIRC for cars affected.

I paid for mine lol, I don't like VW touching my cars.
