I need your advice on a decision I need to make. I took delivery of a MK5 GTI Votex front valence on friday. The valence is primed. I've gotten quite used to the unpainted black plastic bits around the car and I thought that maybe I could try getting this valence sprayed to match the existing unpainted bits on my car...if this is at all possible??

OR

Should I colour code all the unpainted bits including the new valence to match up with the Black Magic colour of my car?

If you guys are wondering what this valence looks like, its the valence on the Red GTI in the pic below:

That GTI Votex lip looks great [:)]

I think you should colour code it, after seeing that I think I might get one!

Hi Derve,

How much are they charging you to colour code the lower rear bumper. Have you gone for the orange peal effect or are you having it smoothed?

Im going to a body shop later this week to get a quote for the rub strips, front lower and rear lower bumpers colour coded. Im going to get the rub strips smoothed but not worry about the bumper. What do you think?

Is there a complete Votex kit for the GTi now, if so could you please
give me the part codes for the front/back/side skirts so I can get them
and then get them colour coded.

If not what are the skirts on the red GTi in that pic, as it looks awesome!

Yup the part no for the front valence is 1KM 071 609 9AX .Thats the same valence as per the RED GTI and My BLack GTI above.

As soon as I get word of the part no for the sides and rear i'll post it here.

Thanks for that. However I dont think that the page shows the side
skirts that I want. Basically if you look at the Bora/Jetta in that pic
under

1KM071609 9AX then thats the front I want - as in this thread- but the
side skirts on the Jetta/Bora in that pic are not on the page as
separates??

Maybe thats the whole kit under

1KM071609 9AX?

I would guess the side skirts fit all of the Golfs, you would have to remove the GTi ones and hope that where the skirts kicks up at the back it hasn't damaged the paint. As for where to get them from, try your local VW dealer or ebay. Also look in the classified section, there is a VW dealer offering a set in there.

Thanks for that.

Guys I having no luck at all here.

A few questions that need answering:

1. Is there a Votex kit for the MK5 GTI? because if there is no-one at VW has heard of it.

2. I can locate the front valence from the part no above, but those
side skirts on the Jetta and particularly the rear valence for the GTI
seems none existant in GTI Votex form, can someone confirm this please?

Thanks

1. The front valence that I have given you a part no for is the Votex GTI valence. The side skirts to me seem as they are the same Votex ones that are available for the normal MK5 Golfs. I have been trying to find out info on the rear valence and believe me if I get info i'll post it right here. So far all I have is this pic:

VW_GTi  here is the part no for the rear valence 1KO 071 610 B 9AX. This was taken from VW  E T K A  accessories catalogue. On the page it says that its suitable for fitment on the GTI and 4Motion models.

You wont believe this but the incompetent VW
dealers have been unable to locate the front and rear valences for the
Votex (GTI) kit. According to them it is non-existant!! Muppets is the
word that comes to mind.

Is there anywhere else I can get the Votex kit from, cant see any on EBAY.
