As with previous topic i posted i have had a little proplem with my car. Basically loss of power due to the ecu,vw have changed the ecu and along with doing that i lost my superchip programme. Spoke with superchips H/office today they are going to re do it foc, well made up!. Decided to do the long trip to bucks instead of going to my regional branch simply becouse superchips have been a lot more helpfull than the local guy up here. So its about 320 mile round trip but its well worth it. Not haveing the chip you do notice the differance in the power without a doubt. So cant wait for friday now, anyone else down there on friday let us know.

That's great but I would expect nothing less; you have paid for the software for your car so its like reinstalling a programme after you have fixed your PC. You will enjoy the visit to HO they are a great bunch. Sounds like your local guy won't be getting any more custom from you.

Im thinking of booking a day off work and going down to Bucks to have mine done. I was going to use a local dealer which would have allowed me to drop it off in the morning and pick it up later. However, as its a bit more of a tricky process to do the new ECU (in that it has to be removed etc) Im having second thoughts.

There is a snack bar opposite and a 'TV lounge' but that is about it, you may only be there about 2 hrs dependant on how many questions you ask[:D]Great guys there, most helpful plus for @ ?60 you can have before and after dyno plots[8)]

Glad it's all sorted for you.

Anyone see S/Chips HQ on Fifth Gear last night ?

I was there on the day they filmed that, having my car dynoed prior to the tuning work now underway. They turned up late so I missed Tiff etc. It was very busy that day, lots going on. I missed the programme last night, shame as I heard it was good for once.[:(]

Not too bad, it featured their quest for a 200mph road going car, they took a newly purchased (second hand @ ?23K) V8 lotus Esprit for a rolling road session etc, Jamie managed to get in shot, chasing fame no doubt [:D] some good free advertising and also another shot across the bows of the synics..

Excuse me for sounding daft whats before and after dyno plots ?

The dynanometer is the rolling road that is used to measure the power and torque of the engine. When tuning the engine, taking a "before" figure allows you to benchmark the power increase against what you started with.

Cool, just be prepared for a charge if you want this done as its not part of what you were asking them to do. The dyno may also be busy, but you takes your chances; you might be OK. One thing's for sure, the trip will be worth it, you will find it interesting and enjoy the trip back.[:)]

Ive been chipped once again and i really didnt realise what i had been missing superchips lads where great,do notice a bit of a diffferance between the 2 chips though. On my original chip i would have a bit of a flat spot when in second through the local agent,But since getting it done by superchips HQ theres defo none of that. And boy i tested it on the way home. And foxy i know what you mean by feeling weird someone else driving your car. also purchased a road angel about 8 wks ago boy did it come in handy today. Think the car was finaly about 185bhb dont qoute me on that got some paper with figures on me being dim i dont understand them. All i know is boy does it make a differance.

Great news mate........glad those guys sorted you out - good of them to do so!

At the end of the day you have paid to *license* their software code, not to own it, and it's not their fault the ECU was faulty.

What kind of charge dud they make in the end?

Oh, and that 'flat spot' may be due to your duff old ECU maybe?
