Ah ha, so its the MKV that you're getting. What colour are you getting?

The kit pictured is the Votex one and the wheels are off the Phaeton I believe.

I saw a black ABT 3dr the other day and it looked the mutts nuts.

The rear end of the caractere kit is perfect IMO! Hopefully, the Milltek TDI Racer Replica exhaust spacing(R32 style dual exit) will fit the caractere kit.

I'm still in two minds about the front of the kit though. I may go for the rear, but work on the front design myself.

Foxy, I managed to see a Caractere kitted up MK5 the other week when I went to VW. Looks absolutely fantastic. Dont know if the salesman was talking out of his backside when he said it cost ?3000. Think its just VW thinking its worth that much hence the price above. U going for the 2.0TDI?

I have to agree. I was at the dealership at the weekend and was speaking to a salesman about it. It cost them ?4k to purchase/spray/fit the kit. The car has pretty much every available extra for the MKV, but still ?29k [!]. It's currently in Germany, but it'll be for sale for quite a while at that price.........

There are going to start offering the kit as an option, so this was their prototype, they will also have 1 caractere Touran and 1 caratere Polo soon (ish).

The full caractere kit is ?1300 ex VAT without exhausts, or ?1600 ex VAT with exhausts. On top of that you'll have to pay to get it fitted and sprayed.

We we're discussing the price a few months back, and the general consensus is that it'll cost ?2500 ish, parts and labour.

I quite like the GTI front end and side skirts, think I may go for those. The Caractere rear valance is definitely the best, and should match up with the Milltek system nicely. No way am I paying labour though [;)]
