Following my recent post about a Mk5 written off at my local garage I went to investigate for you Mk5 owners out there who expressed an interest, I got the spec and some prices. It was apparently a demo car that literally "fell of the back of the lorry", as it was being unloaded. Most of the damage is to the rear and underside of the car. [B)] It is a 2004 GT TDI 2.0.

It has the following, and those parts are being sold for....

Xenons....?180

Heated Black Leather Sports Seats....?250

Sat Nav....?210

6 Disc Changer....?50

16'' VW Sport Wheels....?200

I know the Manager (Phil), so we benefit from these low prices. The prices are exclusive of VAT. If anyone wants prices on other bits, let me know...I only found out the above prices cause I thought they would probably be the main interest.

If anyone wants this stuff let me know asap, and I will try and sort it for you.

Phil has told me there has been ALOT of interest in this car, so be quick. The car is currently intact, the only thing sold from it so far is the front bumper.

I must stress, its not me selling these bits, I just saw it parked up, and after inital thoughts of wondering what would be transplantable to my MK4 (and being told nothing but wipers!), I thought I'd try and help some of you Mk5 Forum owners. []

I'd definitely be interested in the xenons and satnav (as long as they weren't damanged in the 'crash', although like you say it was a rear/under problem mostly.)

Ok, as with all things....good news and bad news.....

Bad News: Some chap walked in this morning and offered ?2k for the entire car.

Good News: The owner of the business was away today, and will be away till Friday. I spoke to my manager friend, who says he will know by Friday if the ?2K offer has been accpeted by the garage owner. If the offer hasnt been accepted, all of the above parts have been reserved by me! (In which case im looking to get a grand out of the bank to cover you lot!)

I must admit im finding this very hard, as I have about 10 people interested in the parts, and Im trying to stick to a first come first served basis. However people are now begining to offer me money personally for getting the parts, its difficult to stick to "1st come, 1st served" when someone just offered me a ?500 personal bonus on top of the ?210+vat Sat Nav Price. PLEASE NOTE: I never asked people to pay me more than what I was going to be charged by the garage.

Its not that I have no morals, but how many people here could turn down that sort of money?

I genuinely didnt ask for money for doing this, it was really a favour to my forum buddies, but I cant really turn down that amount of money. I really hope you guys dont think im corrupt, but I cant turn down money like that.

I will let you know that all items have currently had interest expressed in them, and on 4 of the 5 items, people have started offering perks. Im not asking for money, because im quite happy to let that one item go for what its worth and make no money on it at all, just happy to do the favour. That item will be going to the person who expressed an interest first, unless of course someone starts offering me money. (Here we go again...)

Hi golf....its not as easy as that my friend, theres a long waiting list for these bits!

Thanks for all your offers guys, im putting them into a log and the highest bidder by the end of the week will be taking the bits home with them.

However I must warn you guys that someone on here (who does not wish to be named) is thinking of taking the entire car off my hands.....but thats really down to his/her offer.

Please can I not have any more insulting offers guys? Im not asking top buck for this stuff, and quite frankly as long as I cover my costs im not bothered what I make (bought the damn thing with the intention of helping most of you guys out anyway), but please just make serious offers!!!

Just to show you what sparked me to write this:

"hello mate i want your seats from that golf 5, i know they are leather and that, but they are nearly a year old. i will pay you ?70 cash but only if you include the cards off the doors."

I mean....what a waste of time!
