While waiting for a new combi-valve to arrive, I'm cleaning the throttle body.

I can't get the grime out of the tiny gap around the flap. Am I able to undo the 2 screws to take out the flap and clean up? Or will I stuff up the internal mechanism?

You technically could take the screws out, but my concern would them coming loose again and being sucked into the intake. Just my concern though.

I've always used a tooth brush to screw round the edge and in the gap, seems to work good for me.

Comes out fine. Tiny dab of loctite if you're worried.

Bought proper throttle body cleaner.
Today installed combi-valve.
