You could always swap over the handbrake lever if need be. Just held on with a 13 mm nut.
MK4 Rear Brake Caliper before 2001 vs after 2001
So I need a new rear brake caliper on my '99 MK4 1.6SR (AKL).
However, I found out that after 2001 there may be a difference in the e-brake cable style and I am not entirely sure if the new style is compatible with the old caliper. I intend to buy a used brake caliper off ebay so I want to ask if I should explicitly look for a brake caliper before 2001. Or is any brake caliper from golf 4/new beetle compatible?
