Just got back from AmD today.. got my milltek cat back fitted.. dv vacuum hose replaced and dog bone mount fitted too. ?506. Does that sound reasonable.. I guess it is. A bit more than I was expecting, but nevermind.

The exhaust sounds real good.. love it when I start the engine.. sounds soooo good. Def. a bit of an increase in power.. not huge, but there's def. a difference.. or maybe that the combination of the dog bone and the exhaust. Sounds so good.. is a little droney when cruising, but that will settle down, or so i'm told. I'll take some pics whilst it's clean and post em up with the london meet pics tomorrow.. if I get a chance at work.

Well how much did you pay for the fitting I suppose is the question ?

Cost for fitting the exhaust should not be more than an hours labour and I would have hoped they would have given a discount on the labour if they supplied the exhaust.

I wouldnt be surprised if they did not.

yeah. sound good then?

glad it got sorted for you this time.

did you get the valance?

I di indeed supply the valance myself. we got the at about 11ish and it was done by one or so.. they did do my dv vacuum hose too.. but that's only a hose replacement.

Hell yeah, it sounds good.. nice 'n throaty but not too deep.. I guess it'll quieten down tho.. which I don't really want it to do.. but oh well!

I have found you only get a discount if you ask , sounds resonable though at ?500 with the other bits of work, I also love the look of the twin exit pipes, enjoy those fruity tones.[:D]

Hell yeah, I will do.. got a 130 mile drive home from Reading to Margate now too.... [:D]

I want to get the whole miltek system fitted inc rear valance, but don't know if AMD is the best place/price!! was gonna order the bits from Awesome and let Vince at Stealth Motorsport fit it, but I hear that AMD's work is warranted ? is this true? which may reflect why they are more expensive!!

From all the reports i've read and the bonus of having a rep from Awesome on here I would like to go and let Awesome have there wicked way but Total Distance: 125.8 miles and Total Time: 2 hr 13min each way puts me off a bit!

Now if they had a mobile unit with access to a garage..... wishful thinking......

It was 130 miles for me just to reading mate.. AmD was forty miles from reading.. 170 miles in total to get it done !

If only they had a place this side of london.. it'd be soo much easier !

Nice one Daniel, bet your well chuffed to bits.

Aww yeah Lee.. it sounds reet good ! doesn't give a massive increase.. but there's definitely a bit of something extra there. The front end feels tighter under acceleration.. must be the dog bone, I guess ?

awesome quoted me 600 all in valance from turbo all way threw fitted

Wow.. that is a bargain, imo. The book price for the sport cat and d/pipe is ?457.. I saw that yesterday. then the cat back bits.. that was about ?400 all in.. so ya gotta be lookin at ?800 or thereabouts ?!?!

That's about ?100 more than I would expect but the main thing is that you're happy.

I just hope they put the engine mount back on securely! [;)]

Lol.. lets hope so.. no probs so far and 190 odd miles in it so far and it's been okay !

They did Milltek Cat Back, dog bone engine mount and replaced the vacuum hose onto the DV.. except they used those VW "Most awkward hose clip in the world" clips .. I guess i'll have to replace them for some jubilee's when I need to service the forge.. so, including labour, it was ?508 in total.

Full price of exhaust is ?312, dogbone insert is ?18, then add say ?5 for the hose, clips and new bolts for the engine mount. So ?335 for parts. I would expect about an 1 hour labour for fitting unless they also fitted the valance then I'd allow 2. Most VW specialists charge around ?40 per hour so I would reckon ?415 tops. Is there not a breakdown on your invoice?
