Why is the Milltek Stainless Steel Sport CATS for the 4Motion so expensive from AMD ?? On their website they're charging ?799 fitted... does this sound right?

Also what kind of bhp gains should i expect from such a mod?? is it worth the money?

If you're going over 220 BHP, get one!!!

The standard cats cannot cope!!

MRKIV had his standard CAT melt on him! I think that was using a K04 Turbo and at 235BHP!

If you're serious into tunning you need one...[:D]

You'll be fine with the standard cats on the 4 motion. What Malky mentioned only applies to 1.8T's, which have a single cat from the factory, and are very restrictive. A V6 4 motion has 2 cats and actually have quite good airflow.

What sort of bhp are you planning on?

Would the R32 Miltek Sport Cat fit the 4Motion?

I'm planning to get a turbo at some point so all the components i modify i'd prefer to withstand high bhp.

I would've thought the R32 Miltek sport cats would fit a 4 motion but you should give Miltek a phone as the chances are they are the same cats used for both. If your planning on fitting a turbo kit then I would hold off getting racing cats until you get the turbo kit as there are better cats more suitable for that application. When are you planning on turbocharging it?

Well other people do have them, but technically they are illegal, although without a cat your car should still pass an emissions test without much problem.

is this true? i thought that without the cat the car will NOT pass an emissions test? be interesting to see why it would with no cat cause i thought this governed the reduction of potential squirrel killing gases[?][:O]

In Answer....Yes. Wholle system fits 4Mo.

In answer to other worries about the police and cats... they will not look, and it is not illegal to not have one. If it passes required emmisions test it can even pass MOT. Somenoe on here produced the legislation a short while ago.
