Well I was thinking it might not make much difference if you are running it on the expensive DERV from Shell or BP but it might if you are on Sainsburys and like (PS like for me over here is the 80p/l stuff I can get over the border :)

I find it helps her run smother on the supermarket stuff, & when mixed with Ultimate you do notice a little better performance, pick up wise.

Also it keeps the system free of crap & aides better mpg

It's a cetane booster, which I'm guessing is like an octane booster in petrol.

I've been using it for 2-3 months now in my 2.0TDI, can't say I really notice any effect when running BP Ultimate diesel, but it does seem to perk up Tesco diesel very nicely.

For info to BP ultimate users, Total is bringing out a new diesel called Excellium which is much along the lines of BP Ultimate, the unleaded petrol version is already available in petrol stations (seems to be southern england only at present) but I've yet to find the diesel version.

why do people put additives in the mkv when it says in the manual do not use fuel additives in diesel engines .says you can use additive in petrol engines but it seems daft to me to put additive in the tank when it tells you not too!!

I don't get the supermarket Vs garages fuel debate....

It all comes from the same place? [*-)]
Yes, but does supermarket fuel get the same engine cleaning additives put in it?

Round here supermarket fuel isn't any cheaper like it used to be. Regular unleaded here last week:

BP 88.9p

Sainsbury 89.9p

Tesco 88.9p

Shell 87.9p
