alright guys

i have a 2001 golf tdi 130bhp. The guy who runs revo in exeter has all the softare (vagcom/vagtacho) to do everything, i would like miles to empty to be coded onto my clocks, im pretty sure mine are immo 3 so are compatible. I have spoke to the guy up in exeter and he said it can be done and he has the right software, could someone please explain to me.. so i can then explain to him how to enable this?

a step by step simple talk through would be great if possible! the guy said something about different numbers needing to be changed etc? he knows alot about vagcom, just not an excesive amount.

cheers

cheers bud! thats a great help, going to give the guy a ring tomorrow and try and ask if hes willing to give it a shot :p
He did mine only the other day!!! Very nice chap too, defo worth some beer tokens!!
May sound like a silly question, but can these mod be done to any mk4 or only particualar models?
Have a read through the cluster FAQ linked from the MTE guide or in my sig [y]

Short answer is no - not all MK4's only immo3

turned out my clocks where immo 2 :( annoying! i had no $419 so im guessing that means mine are immo 2?

il try and pick up a set of immo 3 clocks
Do you have a VCDS scan of your car or know the part number of the cluster.

I am 99% sure your car is immo3, probably just your culster was not VDO
anybody in the northeast able to to do this to my car plzs
aRd is based in thornaby and I'm based in at Durham
I'm not sure if there is anyone else doing it.

have a feeling mine may not be VDO. i take it miles to empty has to be VDO?
No, it can be done on most RB8 clusters too as long as they are immo3, there are a couple of versions that won't take it though

i was following your how to, My clocks had to get two pins, took a while to get the 2nd pin but found it in the end, i went through step by step and saved two copies of the original cluster, opened it in the hex editor and went to change hex address $416 and it didnt exisit? my codes didnt go up to 416?
If yours does not go upto the correct bit then their not VDO so it won't help. As said above, it can be done on other clusters but it's more technical
