That's strange. I installed this the other day - just plugged the connector on the back and it picked up the armrest changer straight away. Did you have the changer hooked up to the RCD300 before installing the MFD2?

I put the RCD300 back in to check the cd changer was still working, getting worried now if yours worked straight away.

I think someone on here said if the navi had a sound pack fitted too it would be difficult to get the unit working in a standard car???

Did your car have the RCD300 in??? Did you have the sound pack fitted??

Hope this connector works as i cant get hold of the bloke who sold it to me[:(]

Hi,

I fitted a MFD2 yesterday, I had a RCD300 with the factory fit changer,
and it just worked, I didn't need a new cable or anything. I don't have
any extra audio options either.

On another slightly different note, I followed Foxy's execellent
instructions, and in them he mentions that you have to hack at the
aeriel plug, I found that I didn't have to do this, I just plugged it
into the MFD2.

Hope that helps, David

Was your unit the cd version or the DVD version???

Ive had the cd version on my car and that worked great but wanted to upgrade to this as it's supposed to be better.

Mine's the DVD version (upgraded from RCD300) and I don't have the sound pack installed. I also didn't have to hack at the aerial thingy. I thought if you had an MFD2 from a car with the sound pack installed you wouldn't get any sound at all, and besides, you should still get a display when s electing CD.

I didnt have to hack the aerial either, just fitted straight on.

Sounds like i have a broken unit then if your dvd unit worked straight away[:(]

See what happens when i get this lead on Tuesday, just hope it works.

Does seem a bit odd that the screen goes blank when you press the cd button.

Cheers mate for the not "so good news" lol.

Just like to say a big Thank you to the people who posted replies[Y]

The unit is now fixed.

One of the neighbours friends (Who works for Halfords) fixed it.

Something to do with the settings, took him 15 mins to sort it.

Thanks again guys.
